Larry Walton from Robinson, Texas, won the 45th Terlingua International Chili Championship in Terlingua, TX, on November 5, 2011. Larry's chili was judged best by six panels of judges who had to select from over 300 chilis which were cooked at Rancho Casi de los Chisos on that day.
Larry will be present at many cookoffs throughout the year leading up to the 46th championship on November 3, 2012, as CASI continues its pursuit of "Chili, Charity, and Fun".

The Terlingua International Chili Championship has expanded to become a multi-day event featuring various cooking competitions, culminating with the Terlingua International Chili Championship on Saturday. This year we will hold the fourth annual Teguila Rose BBQ Contest in Krazy Flats, on Thursday, November 1. The BBQ contest is sanctioned by the Lone Star Barbecue Society. This year, in addition to the categories for Chicken, Pork Ribs, and Brisket, there is a Dessert category. Details about BBQ contest, including guaranteed prize money, can be found by reading the Tequila Rose BBQ Contest flyer (available in September).
